Our Guides
The Adventurers’ Club benefits from one of the finest guiding pedigrees in all of Africa. Our head naturalists include: Sammy Leseita, one of Kenya’s best-known cultural authorities, who is currently writing a book of African children’s folktales; Sammy Maende, a marine conservationist with long experience running coastal conservation programmes; Daniel Kilonzo, a professional Kamba guide as famous for his humour as his award-winning bird knowledge; and John Parmasau, Kenya’s most experienced and popular Maasai children’s guide. Each naturalist is assisted by a highly trained children’s animator, who is responsible for the care and wellbeing of all younger Adventurers. Most of our animators have worked as kindergarten teachers, and all have considerable experience looking after young children. In addition, all Adventurers staff have undergone specialist first aid training, and most speak at least two European languages.
